My karate class was closed today. Not enough students to continue reserving the space.

I feel both sad and relieved. I’ve been teaching karate (for free) for 18 years. I’m tired of it.

I told my students, “Let’s take a break for the rest of the year. Touch base around Christmas, see what’s what.” I know that this is not the time to make a big decision, and that some of the kids will feel sad (and maybe a couple of the adults). Some won’t. All will probably forget about it by Christmas, and that will be that.

A natural death.
